ISC and Men & Mice raise the standard for DNS training

Today Internet Systems Consortium (ISC) and Men & Mice announced a joint training program to offer and develop courses on Internet protocols at the cutting edge of Internet operations technology. Initially there are five different courses and workshops offered including Introduction to DNS & BIND, advanced DNS & BIND, DHCP, IPv6 Fundamentals, and DNSSEC.

On IPv4 exhaustion and IPv6 transition

As most network administrators know by now the world is running out of IPv4 addresses. Now only 12% of the IPv4 address space globally remains free and available. The prediction is that by 2011 all IPv4 addresses will be allocated. The transition from IPv4 to IPv6 is a global challenge and as a result the adoption of IPv6 has been very slow.To facilitate IPv6 deployment Men & Mice has introduced a whitepaper outlining stepwise approach to IPv6 Migration and planning.

Men & Mice releases version 6.1 of the Men & Mice Suite

This new version now supports IPv6 on network level. The Suite can be used in IPv6 only networks, IPv4 only networks or on networks that use both IPv4 and IPv6. The new release also contains support for DNSSEC and integration with Secure64 DNSSEC signer. With this integration, implementation and use of DNSSEC will be less of a challenge. Version 6.1 of the Men & Mice Suite contains various usability enhancements, making the system both more powerful and easier to user than ever before.
