This new release brings a new level of integration, security and control to the enterprise network through IPv6 support, integration with Microsoft Sites and Subnets, Cisco DHCP support and a range of other new features.

Integration with Microsoft Active Directory Sites and Subnets

Most networks, even mixed-platform, have some degree of Active Directory integration. The Men & Mice Suite securely supports AD integration, including with Microsoft Sites and Subnets. This enables Network administrators to add, remove and reassign subnets in AD Sites from within the same centralized management console while maintaining a complete audit trail and history of Site and Subnet assignment changes.

Support for Cisco DHCP

Routers have a strong presence in most large networks but due to lack of manageability, few organizations have leveraged their native DHCP functionality. With Men & Mice, management of most Cisco DHCP servers can now be done with the same ease as with Windows or ISC DHCP servers. This means that in hybrid environments, all management can be done from one central location through one common interface and with fully-granular access control and a complete audit history of all users and changes.

Support for IPv6

IPv6 is a topic on everyone’s radar and migration to IPv6 will be an important and challenging task. The Men & Mice Suite supports IPv6 in both DNS and IPAM, enabling management of the IPv6 address space with the same ease as IPv4. Moreover, both IPv6 and IPv4 can be managed simultaneously in the same interface, which makes the tool ideal for migration from IPv4 to IPv6.

Other new features

• Support for DHCP lease history both on Microsoft and ISC DHCP servers.
• Scheduled scripts. Scripts can be scheduled to run at any predetermined time to perform routine tasks as well as automated backup of the Men & Mice Suite database.
• Support for DNSSEC record types. Men & Mice can be used to view and manage DNSSEC enabled zones.
• SOAP interface. The Men & Mice Suite comes with a SOAP interface enabling access to and from external applications or scripts using industry standard protocols. Almost any programming language can now be used to interact with the Men & Mice Suite.
• Support for Oracle database. Men & Mice Suite can leverage Oracle as a database for increased performance, reliability and security for larger installations.
• Change history can be viewed for any object or user.
• Promote Zone. If a master zone becomes unavailable any slave zone can be turned into a master zone with a few mouse clicks.
