Men & Mice releases version 6.1 of the Men & Mice Suite

Men & Mice, a leading provider of DNS, DHCP and IP Address Management (IPAM) solutions, has announced the release of Men & Mice Suite version 6.1.

IPv6 support on a network level

This new version now supports IPv6 on network level which means that the Men & Mice Suite can be used in IPv6 only networks. Of course, one can continue to use the Men & Mice Suite in IPv4 only networks or on networks that use both IPv4 and IPv6.

Integrated IP Address Management and DNSSEC Signing Solution

The new release contains support for DNSSEC and integration with Secure64 DNSSEC signer. With this integration, implementation and use of DNSSEC will be less of a challenge. Version 6.1 of the Men & Mice Suite contains various usability enhancements, making the system both more powerful and easier to user than ever before.

The new release confirms the commitment to provide best of breed IP address management solutions for organizations running Microsoft and/or Unix/Linux based networks, or a mixture thereof.

Integrated analyzing of zones

The new version contains a new feature set allowing thorough analysis of zones. All zones in the Men & Mice Suite can be analyzed for health as a part of daily DNS management

DNS Management Module features

Mass import of DNS zones It is now possible to import multiple DNS zones in one action. This makes migration quick and efficient.

Advanced DNS editing options DNS Managers can now edit all DNS options in the Men & Mice Suite. This makes DNS Management simpler and more secure as the access control and auditing features of the Men & Mice Suite can now be utilized for all DNS changes.

DNS Server backup and restore It is now possible to back up contents of DNS servers so in case of a server failure, the server can easily be restored.

Support for DNSSEC zones The Men & Mice Suite supports management of DNSSEC zones.

Secure64 integration The Secure64 integration allows the usage of the Secure64 DNSSEC signer with the Men & Mice Suite.

IP Address Management Module features

Maintain tree view for IP address ranges while filtering is in effect When using the Quick Filter, for IP Address ranges, the tree view is being maintained so the user can always see where in the subnet tree each IP Address range is located.

Join Ranges It is now possible to join adjacent IP address ranges with a single operation.

Find next free address in range Finding the next free address in a densely populated IP address range can be a challenge. Version 6.1 of the Men & Mice Suite allows you to find the next free address by clicking a single button.

DHCP Management Module features

SSH support for Cisco DHCP servers Cisco DHCP server can no be managed through SSH connections, making the server management both secure and efficient.

Support for the ISC v4 DHCP server The Men & Mice Suite now supports both versions 3.x and 4.0 of the ISC DHCP server.

Failover support for ISC DHCP servers Using the Men & Mice Suite, it is now possible to create and manage failover configurations for the ISC DHCP server.

Scope Migration The Scope Migration Wizard provides MS DHCP users with a simple and safe method to move scopes between DHCP servers.
