IP Address Management Module

Enterprise IP address management system on top of Microsoft and/or Unix based DNS/DHCP infrastructure

The IP Address Management (IPAM) Module provides a unified management interface to the enterprise IP address space allowing central control of distributed operations. The IP Address Management Module is tightly integrated with the DNS Management Module and the DHCP Management Module, and is generally deployed in conjunction with them.

True to the Men & Mice design principles the IPAM Module is a non-intrusive application working in harmony with the existing network infrastructure.

The IP Address Management Module provides graphical management of the IP address space allowing central control but distributed operations. You can allocate blocks of IP addresses to departmental operators for autonomous management, leveraging an intuitive web-based interface.

The integrated DNS, DHCP and IP management solution provides clear benefits:

  • Enterprise-wide IP address management, resulting in higher IP address utilization, increased security and added control. Graphical tree-based interface for logically dividing your organization's static IP space into manageable IP Address ranges.

  • DNS and DHCP integrated approach to IP Address management ensures that your IP Address book-keeping is always in synchronization with DNS and DHCP. The IP Address Management module relies, among other things, on DNS and DHCP to keep track of which IP Addresses are in use at any given time.

  • Seamless access to the next available IP address when performing DNS updates. IP Addresses are seamlessly registered in DNS and/or DHCP as appropriate when assigned.

  • Integration with the DNS and DHCP Management modules offers a graphical overview of your whole IP Address space (both static and dynamic)

  • Provides intuitive, error-proof, web-based interfaces for day-to-day IP provisioning from available IP Address ranges.

  • Option to customize the web-based interfaces to adapt to your organization's specific IP provisioning requirements and policies.

  • Integration capabilities provide means to integrate IP related data with other information systems, such as reporting systems, asset management systems, network monitoring systems, etc.

  • Enables instant reaction to organizational changes using a powerful mass-editing functionality to change hundreds (or thousands) of items with the click of a button

  • Reduces the number of help-desk calls because of tightened security and intelligent user-interface that helps prevent configuration errors

  • Fully integrated with Microsoft Active Directory with regard to user authentication, AD integrated DNS zones and Dynamic DNS

  • Generate various reports about your IP space or sub-ranges - e.g. a utilization report or subranges - e.g. a utilization report

  • Microsoft AD Sites and Subnets integration. Network administrators can securely add, remove and reassign subnets in AD while maintaining complete audit trail

  • Auditing. Change history is tracked for any object as well as user activity. The system can be set to query for a “Save Comment” on all updates. This can, for example, be used to save a work ticket number or any other reference.

  • Ipv6 support. IPv6 address space can be managed with same ease as the IPv4 address space and in the same unified interface.

  • Scheduling. Scripts can be run at any predetermined time to perform routine tasks and backup.
